Welcome to Lighthaven: Part 2

It seems the previous owners were not kind to Lighthaven. Trash, beer cans, and animal skulls, notably goat, have been found throughout the woods. Many of the trees in the open area were bound by ropes, wires, chains, and fences. A plastic toy knight was found embedded within the crook of a branch. Most of the objects are impossible to remove without damage to the trees.
Yet no one is all bad. For beautiful, yet untended and overgrown gardens dot the landscape, a legacy left by previous owners.

However, life and light has come to Lighthaven.
Someone cares about nature, loves nature.
The trees sense it.
Matthew, the tallest of the maples, broad and strong. Peter, gnarled, yet regal, and very much dead, the branches downward sweeping. There are Paul and Barnabas, steady and true. The welcoming trio nearest the entrance: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Maralee and Evangeline, spritely crabapples. Excelsis, half the branches stripped of leaves and life, owing to an intentional and negligent fire on the property.
And there are wildlife. Beautiful, wonderful wildlife. Tiny brown snakes. Sandhill Cranes. Red-winged Blackbirds. Swallows. Crows. Mourning Doves. Chipmunks. Tiny toads. Bees and hornets. Butterflies.

The flora. Raspberries. Irises. Lilies. Lilacs. Ferns. Clover. Hostas. Burdock. Poppies.
They are all there, giving life and breath to Lighthaven. A place to worship and reflect on the Glory of God. To witness the divine in all things. To live in union with God's creatures and creations.
It is a sanctuary. A haven. A haven of light.
